I was running around town with some friends tonight, and at one point, we ended up on the boulevard that leads to the airport. We weren't sure where we were going, so we pulled onto the shoulder to regroup:
It's about 9:45 at night, there's no traffic, and the speed limit is 35, so we weren't too worried. I was out of my car, standing at the drivers window of my friend's car, when I head another vehicle approaching. I turned. I didn't see another vehicle approaching, until I noticed two faint orange glowing things approaching in the left lane. The glow of our taillights eventually showed it to be some sort of minivan, I think a Sienna. Now normally, when I see someone driving in the middle of the night, with no lights on, I blink my lights to tell them. But I was not in my car. So what did I do? Nope, I'm not that mature. As he began to pass us, I stepped into the right lane and yelled at the top of my lungs, " TURN YOUR DAMN LIGHTS ON!!!" I'm fairly sure I scared the shit out of him, but he did not, somehow, get the message. He kept on driving with his car, and in fact, his life and world as he knew it, completely un-illuminated. And we had to wait to keep going until my friends stopped laughing at me.

I know what thats like man. It gets worse when its snowing and dark. In an area with no street lights. In northern Ontario. Where they should know better.

I did something like this one evening. My DRLs are so bright that I thought I had my lights on main beam, it wasn't till I was just short of work when a motorbike pulled up alongside and the guy tapped on my window and said 'you might want to put your lights on mate'. I felt like an idiot.
